Judges Guidlines

Judges will call for his/her class into the ring and line them up. Check armband Numbers. The Numbers should be for the class the Judge is about to handle

Move the class around the ring to wrm up the dogs and Handlers.

Go over your first dog starting with the head and working your way back measuring this dog to the standar.

Move your first dog in a triangle shape. Going away looking at the hind leg movement. Making a left looking at the side movement and balance. Making another left the the dog is now coming back at the Judge, seeing the front movement.

Repeat untill the Judge has gone through the entire class.

Face all dogs so the rears are now facing the Judge. The Judge will now make a decision.

Move all the dogs around the ring two or three times and pick the winner.

The WBA follows this program so that Handlers know what to do and how to train their dogs. Judges may talk with dog owners after the judging is over. While the class is in motion, there is no conversation about dogs as to what a Judge likes or dislikes. Judging is to be done in a timely manner. Remember there is a lot going on, weather, attention span of dogs and Handlers.
